Redesignation of Natural Heritage Areas

Anyone had experience in applying for redesignation of Natural Heritage Areas?  I think submission of an Environmental Impact Statement or similar is required to town offices and I have a general understanding of what's prohibited and may be permitted.   I'd be interested in any feedback, good or bad, if anyone's done this.

My understanding is that ESA's and Natural Heritage Areas are pretty much etched in stone these days.  The cost of an Environmental Impact Statement would be prohibitive, unless you are talking about a multi-million dollar re-development project.  Otherwise these areas are not to be tampered with.

I figured that'd be the case, I was looking at Muskoka/Gravenhurst sales.  If you win one with partial conservation (making it unbuildable) can you sell it on as recreational land for hunting, fishing etc or is it a strict no trespass policy?  Sorry I know this is a little off the track but I can't seem to find a simplified answer.  Thanks, Guru

Sorry, no answer on it.  Usually, the Conservation Authorities are the real interested parties, and they get them through the municipality after a failed tax sale.  There are not many details available except for the maps available in the package, and the fact that there is definitely a swampy predisposition to some of the properties.   That guy with the sunglasses used to me my logo.
