This looks like a good one for someone in the east part of the province

Smith falls duplex  27 K minimum   . I am betting no redemption  ( based on nothing but gut so dont blame me if they do redeem )

Pictures do show that the hydro is disconnected so one can expect that the pipes have frozen and there is rodents but it doesn't look as bad as many I have seen ( based on the pictures)

Last sold 1995 for 56K   Lot is around 65 x 130

House next door is clone and on MLS  090403004036800   for 178 K    apparently renting for 750 per unit per month ( who knows the vacancy rate up there but I'm guessing real high and lots of white trash welfare )

The catch.Although it is a nice little town ..Smith falls is a unemployment zone..They haven't figured out that they must become a retirement town and there is no jobs since hershey left. but the town is really nice and has potential

Looks like a good little summer project if you can do your own labour and don't pay through the roof for the house
..Its at least worth a drive to Smiths Falls for a day out and have a look

I have NOT done any diligence re the deeds/liens/nuclear waste/Jimmy hoffa in basement etc  etc so as always   CAVEAT EMPTOR

 We were just through Smith's Falls a few weeks ago, stopped for lunch, and the restaurant owner told us that another major chocolate company has recently purchased the Hershey chocolate factory, so, if it is so, unemployment may not be the negative factor one would have thought it to be.

I hope it is true regarding the new chocolate company.  However Smiths Falls has been in decline since the end of the railroad era.  Once the big employer was CPR. An older generation of mine  had secure employment with the railroad in the early part of the century in Smiths Falls. There were other employers such as Beach Tools.  They made first rate tool box.  The latest shoe to drop is the Rideau Regionial Centre.  They are closing or have closed.  This is worst than losing the chocolate factory.  I believe they were the biggest source of jobs in town. 
It is still a great tourist town and if they have the chocolate factory take the tour.  They use to give out a free chocolate after
