Sell the land back to the city

Has anyone know if it's possible to surrender or sell a vacant land back to the city.  I don't think a refund is possible after a tax sale.  Any ideas are welcome!  The land was brought from city of st. catharines in dec 07.  It was a bad purchase decision outlined in other postings in the past and I just hope to cut loss and move on.  I hope the only way is not by not paying the property tax and let it go through the tax sale process again  =)  I don't want to hurt my credit history or receive collection calls/letters from the city.

Too many times people get into this GAME and think its easy.... Even lately iv noticed some people border line overpaying for some of these properties. Live and learn !

  The city is almost guaranteed not to want it back; if they do not, talk to your tax expert & see if you can obtain some sort of tax credit or donation credit for gifting the land to the city. It must have had some attraction for you to buy it: perhaps you can find somone who wants the land and has a use for it, so it may be that you could sell if with with a very low down payment and VTB financing to help them get going and get this off your hands. You might even try listing it with a real estate agent, renewable every 30 days.
