Hi my name is Heather and I've been one of the surfers (lurkers) on this website for a few months now. I live in Port Perry and noticed a tax sale in our newspaper and decided to find out what a tax sale was. I found this forum and read every post on it.
My husband Bill and I decided to put an offer in on this property.  We knew it was a really nice property, with a lot of potential.  The tax sale process was new to us and found the forum answered most of our questions.  We thought this would be a great learning experience especially with it being in our home town.  My husband Bill went to the opening of the bids on the BIG DAY!  They opened our bid first and about nine others after. WE WON!  There was $6000.00 difference from our winning bid to the second bid.  It was very very exciting! 

Rob and all the regular contributors make this forum a gold mine of information.  Heather and Bill thank you all and we will try to participate in the future.

Congratulations! It can be a mine field out there. I don't contribute too much factual info...just one of the foot soldiers. It is easy to get smoked out there.
