Earnest Bidder is right.....there should always be a little chatter on this site, property related or not. Like Dave 2, I investigated Nova Scotia a few years ago as well however at the time the owner had a year after the sale to redeem.
You can easily get stiffed in Ontario as well. That's why the Ontario tender packages state" The municipality makes no representation regarding the title to or any other matters relating to the land to be sold."That's exactly why we do title searches and those that don't eventually get burned.
Agreed the action is slim these days... hopefully the fall will provide a harvest of tax delinquent properties.
With no suitable tax sale parcels in site, I for one have had to resort to purchasing my next piece of development property through the old channels, and paying market value....but you do get what you pay for.
