Questions Re: The Process & Algoma Properties

Good Morning,

Let me start by saying what a fantastic site and I apologize in advance if this email is lengthy . . . I am very interested in getting involved in the purchase of tax sale properties and after having read through all the posts, I am coming to understand that there are many things that I need to be aware of before going through with the process.  I am interested in one of the properties that the Algoma District School Board has listed - the house with the acreage.  Firstly, why does the school board own it?  Should this be a tip off that perhaps something is amiss?  Have the current owners failed to pay school taxes?  Secondly, I have noticed that one person wrote about finding out information about another property through mpac?  I visited the site, but I am not sure how to get the information that I may require?  Thirdly, with regards to researching information about the property - do I wait as the current owners may pay up between now and the time right up until the property in registered into the successful bidders name?  In addition, do most people do the footwork themselves or do they use their lawyer?  Fourthly, do most of you simply save up the money to purchase these properties or do you use other types of financing?  Again, I do apologize for so many questions but everyone seems to be so helpful and whenever you begin a new adventure in life, it is nice to try and see a little glimpse of the road ahead.
