Evicting Occupying Owner

O.K. I know this subject has been brought up before but I still haven't read a satisfactory answer. I bought a house that is occupied and the previous owner won't leave. One previous post suggests serving the occupant with eviction papers but these are meant for tenants, the occupant is not a tenant he is a tresspasser as far as I'm concerned. I contacted the Sherrif's office and the police but they have been of no help so far. I'm going in to see the police next week to try and force the issue. Has anyone gone through this process? Does anyone have a real story? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,

First off, make sure the deed is fully in your name and you have paid all of the fees pertaining to the tax sale. After this, the property is completely YOURS to do what you want with it. This individual is living there illegally (assuming you are correct and he is not a tenant with a legally binding lease) and you should involve the police to remove him, with the motive of tresspassing or even break and enter. If the police are not helping I suggest you be more aggressive with them to get their act in gear, as it is their responsibility to assist you in a case such as this.
I also suggest you have your property insured so that any damage he/she may do will be covered in case he flees and you cannot charge him (he obviously has no money anyway).
Good luck.
