Vechiles and animals left on property

We are looking for a farm or acreage where we can build a home, so we can grow daylilies. We have seen a few farms, but wonder what happens with equipment that is left on property that are left behind (tractors, trucks, etc), do you own them or does the previous owner have to remove them? How long before you say they are abandoned?
What has concerned me is some farms that I have looked at where the are animals on the property, the one farm I am considering has horses. What happens if the owner is removed and his animals are left behind, do you become responsable?
Does anyone have stories or experience that they can share?

Good question
Normally you have bought the property, lock-stock-and-barrel. I don't know what happens, for example, to a tractor which might have a lien registered against it by the local farm implement dealership.
It would be highly unusual for someone to let a property go with livestock on it. Again, unless these critters are on consignment from someone else - I believe they are yours, and you'd better get ready to shovel the manure.
