Before I get to my question, I would like to say a quick hello to everyone here, so hello
.
I live in Toronto and would like to purchase a small commercial property within 3 hours pf Toronto. I plan to develop the property into either a used car lot, or car wash or something similar in development cost.
I saw a post of teaming up on properties; count me in. Here are my skills. I have done renovations, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, flooring and roofing. The main skill I lack is brick laying as in concrete block wall building.
Now for my question.
I have been looking at purchasing tax property for a total of four days now. The listings I find occasionally have a street address with them. Usually they only have a Roll No. or Lot identifier that a street map does not show. Is there a website or software that shows properties by Roll No. in Ontario?

The biggest problem with commercial tax sale propertys is that almost all have severe environmental problems. IE old gas stations with the tanks still in ground, dry cleaning plants, former tannerys etc. I am doubting you will find what you want here.

Four days is not a lot of time to spend here, so expecting results is a bit premature at this point, but stay with it, they do show up here, but you really have to do your investigative work, so as not to wind up with your financial backside in a wringer, and folks here are extremely helpful, especially if they are not going to bid on it themselves.
Take a look at the tender pkg on the municipality's website: usually, one can find a road name, then Googlemap will show you where it is.
ontariotaxsales.ca will usually have extra info, and, finally, call the municipality itself.
On the other hand, if you want to be in a particular area, find yourself a really good agent, and they will do the work for you, and, perhaps, save you a lot of grief.
I've sent you some listings from the Madoc area, that I saw last week on MLS.

Not to discourage but unless you want an abandoned gas station, tax sales aren't a very ideal way to find commercial property. The main problem is that not many commercial properties in good condition ever end up in a tax sale. The second issue is that the locations are usually pretty "off the beaten path" generally, and one of the main components of a viable commercial property is location, location, location.
Check out the commercial mls, and also that free magazine that is circulated in the GTA with commercial properties. I checked that one out recently and saw plenty of interesting deals.
