Bid attendance

This seems like a relatively dumb question but I have not been able to find the answer on any prior posts.  I am looking at one of the properties but I know I will not be able to attend the reading of the bids.  Do I need to be in attendance?

If not how will they notify me?

No, you don't have to be there.  It is preferrable that you do attend, however nothing says you have to. 
They will have your name and address on your tender documents. 
I would advise attendance, if at all possible.   I would have lost out big time if I weren't at one particular sale and heard all the details first hand.

In Ontario -  Mail.

In Alberta - You need to be in person.

1/3 of all counties in the US - You need to be in person

It's not illegal if you are not in a particular sale however it is always advisable that you do , because sometimes you get to see some real values in that particular property which you might not have noticed earlier.
